toqua arrowmen -
 
plan to be at the oa gathering thursday.  we need to polish our  ceremonies 
performance for the upcoming ordeal at camp pellissippi on the  week-end of 
august 8 - 10.  a fairly recent message from the lodge advisEr  says we should 
bring tents - pellissippi doesn't have enough to accomodate  us.  candidates 
should also bring tents!?  
 
be talking this up in your troops, even though you might not be the troop  
rep.  staff is needed for help with all of the stuff that goes on -  kitchen, 
ceremonies (ceremonialists, torch bearers, circle preparation, etc.),  work 
projects for the camp, etc.  lots of good elangomats are needed.   note the word 
good - this is the only kind of elangomat needed.  
 
i recently sent in the current universal registration form and my payment  
for fall ordeal and fall fellowship.  i got a note from valerie that i had  
already paid on the universal form last spring and that i am due a refund.   maybe 
some of the rest of you have done the same thing.  and maybe i led  you into 
doing it last week.  if so, sorry bout that.
 
let's be thinking ahead to fall fellowship on the week-end of September 5 -  
7.  this is very important in the life of the lodge and chapter in that new  
officers will be elected.  consider all of your time restraints (sports,  band, 
school, troop, etc.) and then be thinking about whether or not you can do  a 
good job as an elected officer in the chapter.  if you can and  will - go for 
it!  also be thinking of all of the work that needs to  be done in the chapter 
by the committees.  i think this is where our  chapter suffers most - some 
committee chairs are not filled, and some committees  have no workers.  be 
thinking of a chapter committee that you can serve  on.  some of you might be 
considering going for a  lodge position.  good!  but again, consider whether or not 
you  can and will devote the necessary time to it.
 
effort has been made to get all of our members on the chapter mailing  list.  
this could be a really good means of communication if we would  all watch our 
e-mails.  please reply to me so that i can  know how effective this has been.
