[Toqua OA Chapter] winter banquet - february 2, 2008

toqua arrowmen -
 
today's mail included a list of those who have signed up for the banquet as  
of today: a total of 46 youth and adults.  of this total 13 are from  toqua.  
toqua registrants are 1 youth (gabe green) and 12 adults (butler,  bylin, 
callaway, dunning, edwards, edwards, pearman, pendleton, shanks, stevens,  
tribble, and watson).
 
i'm sure some of you (many of you, i hope) intend to go.  it would be  a big 
help to the lodge if you would go ahead and send in your registration and  
payment so that plans can be made based on actual numbers instead of  
out-of-the-ear numbers.  
 
there are two registration forms on the lodge web.  one is the  universal 
form on which you can register for 5 events, one of which is this  banquet.  the 
other is a form for this banquet only.  you make use of  the web to download 
one of the forms.  in addition to this, i will have  some copies of each of 
these forms at the chapter meeting on thursday.  if  you pre-register using 
either of these forms the cost is $20.  if you  pay at the door, the cost is $30.  
$10 is worth saving - that's  about 3+ gallons of gas!
 
unit elections team training will happen again at the meeting  thursday.  we 
had only 3 trainees from 2 troops (15 and 20) last  week.  last year about 9 
teams did all of the elections in toqua,  with some teams doing 2, 3, 4, or 
even as many as 6 elections.  if  your troop has eligible candidates you should 
consider fielding an election  team and doing your fair share of the elections. 
 it is not drudgery - it  is somewhat fun, and is a great way of doing 
cheerful service to troops and  benefiting them and the order.
 
instead of depending wholly on electronic communications, let's also do  some 
face-to-face and telephoning.  will you contact some youth and adults  in 
your units?  youth contact youth, adults contact adults.  is that a  good deal or 
what?
