[Toqua OA Chapter] chapter stuff

toqua arrowmen -
 
this message has a two-fold purpose.  one is to encourage attendance  at the 
next chapter meeting, and the other is to announce unit elections  team 
training.
 
first, the regular chapter business meeting is on thursday, January 10th at  
concord united methodist church on roane drive.  chief ben will have a busy  
agenda, to include ordering and paying for tee-shirts, officer reports,  
committee reports, getting people to commit to doing upcoming blue/gold  ceremonies 
(the next one is on January 14th), and then practice for ceremonies  and 
drumming and dancing.  maybe other stuff, too.  this is the first  meeting of a new 
calendar year, and we are 25% of the way through the chapter  year.  resolve 
to do your best for your unit and the chapter in the time  left.
 
next, we must soon begin doing troop unit elections.  team training is  
scheduled for January 17th and 24th.  being on an election team is an  opportunity 
for service for those of you who do not choose to do ceremonies and  
drum/dance and run committees and other stuff in the chapter.  (those of  you who do 
ceremonies and drum/dance and run committees and other stuff in the  chapter can 
do unit elections, too).  all of you please talk this up in  your troops, and 
get some of the dormant oa members to commit to doing  elections.  (this is w
here i wish that the oa troop rep program really  worked, but it doesn't, so 
let's do it this way).  when you and they come  to the training meetings, bring 
any of the forms and paperwork you might have  from working on teams in 
previous years, and bring the video, too.
