[Toqua OA Chapter] upcoming stuff

toqua arrowmen -
 
i am excited (if you can picture that) about this new means of  
communication.  i have looked at the mailing list, and it has about 70  names on it.  some 
need to be purged, and some need to be corrected, and  some need to be added.  
this can be a great communications device if we  will but use it.  to be 
among the  informed it does require that you  check your e-mail.
 
the chapter business meeting is this week - January 11th - at 7:00 pm at  
concord united methodist church.  joey will have a full agenda.  let  me urge all 
the committee chairs to have a report on their activities and/or  plans.  
advisErs need to be present to give advice.  let me urge  everyone who is not on 
a committee to get on the one of your choice.
 
joey sent out a message announcing that there will be training for unit  
elections teams at this meeting and again on January 25th.  i have looked  at the 
schedule, and find some interesting things thereon.  there are 30  troops on 
the election schedule, but in 2006 there were only eleven teams  which did 
elections.  of course, many of these teams did more  than one election, and one 
team did six!  this work should be  more evenly distributed, and this can happen 
only if more troops form  teams.  talk it up in your troops, and come to the 
training.  it  really is a fun thing, once you get into it.
 
make plans to be in attendance at lodge activities coming up.  the  next one 
is a workday at camp buck toms.  soon after is the o. a. banquet,  where there 
will be a great meal and awards will be made to many.
